The Challenge in Kenya’s Bush Regions

Millions of Kenyans live in semi-desert counties who:

Live on the equivalent of 1 USD per day
Have no running water or electricity
Ride for hours to get to a bank or a hospital
Often have no access to a school or church

Pastors here also live at or below the poverty line. They can feel forgotten by the urban churches and are sometimes seen as beggars when they advocate for the church’s needs and ministries. Staying in the ministry is often an existential economic struggle.

Our Solution: Holy Goats

Holy Goats creates cooperative goat businesses in hubs of bush pastors who already regularly work together. Instead of a one-time donation that is quickly spent, seed funding is invested into a herd of goats that multiplies year after year.

Start with 500 Goats

We help a hubs of about 10 pastors start with around 500 goats, creating the foundation for sustainable growth.

Grow to 1,500 Goats

Over two years, the herd grows to a sustainable base of about 1,500 goats through careful management and breeding.

Generate $45,000 Annually

Each location manages 1500 goats as an economic engine, producing 800 babies each year. Selling back down to our 1500-goat level generates $45,000 USD in annual sales.
